What began as a simple hobby soon became a real love of the fascinating world of bees.  There is something special about opening a hive and seeing just how clever, organised and hardworking these little creatures are.  Beekeeping has taught me to slow down, pay attention to the seasons and appreciate the small things... from the scent of warm honey and beeswax to the changing colours of the honey throughout the year.  Before long, my interest in the bees grew into making things with what the hive provides, experimenting with beeswax, pouring candles, making balms and soaps, and finding new ways to use these beautiful natural ingredients.

One of the loveliest and most unexpected parts of the journey has been the people I have met along the way.  What started at home with a few hives and a hobby has created connections with neighbours, local businesses, customers and other people who simply appreciate something handmade and local. Wildflower has grown slowly and naturally from that... jars of honey, handcrafted candles and little pieces of the hive making their way into other people's homes.  I still think of it as my hobby at heart: a creative outlet, a reason to keep learning, and a wonderful reminder of just how much can come from a tiny bee!
